“NYC Invasion”
Whats going on people!!! For my first post I bring you a recap of my weekend consisting of inspirational knowledge, and motivational work ethic. This exclusive combination was provided by none other than 9thWonder and his crew of Jamla artists. This group of artists is deserving of a title such as, “A Movement” or “A Revolution”, however, that is not the purpose of this post. The purpose of this post is an attempt to explain the extraordinary acts performed by the people previously mentioned.
For 24+ hours, spanning over a three day period, 9thwonder banged out classic beat after classic beat, live on Ustream for everybody to see. Stopping only to eat, allow his artists to demonstrate their lyrical tenacity, and greet his guests as they came and went. He showcased his passion for his craft, as well as demonstrating his desire to entertain and educate simultaneously.
9thWonder cut through sample after sample, adding his own distinctive rhythms and chops that only a person of his caliber could perform. He had multiple artists bless the mic including, but not limited to, Rapsody, Sundown (Of Act Proof), and Enigma (Of Act proof).
**I feel as if I am doing an injustice by not naming every artist that contributed, however, I did not originally plan on writing this, so I have very few notes from this legendary weekend**
Anyways, moving along.
9thWonder displayed the meaning behind “Culture Over Everything”, by showing the starting point, the middle, and the end result of what it takes to work hard and achieve. He provided proof that it is not necessary to hide your practices due to the fear you may loose financially, rather, that by excelling at what you do while remaining committed to your mission, will then allow you to achieve everything possible.
9thWonder also displayed his leadership skills in the studio while recording the Jamla artists. He providided positive feedback, which enabled his artists to achieve the greatness they deserved, while smoothly working the boards. With the live chat going crazy the entire time, people from all around the world watched this legendary performance of music, and artists.
Jamla, based out of North Carolina, has the potential for some truly great things in their future. This is why it is important that the word be spread about what they have done, and what they intend on doing. This is the kind of music, as well as artists, than can bring quality entertainment, while providing people with moral support and wisdom.
